WASHINGTON (TND) — A Maine woman is celebrating her 103rd birthday and she just so happens to be the oldest lobster trapper in the state.
Virginia Oliver started catching lobster off the coast of Rockland when she was a little girl and has no plans of retiring.
She also just renewed her lobster fishing license for the 2023 season marking her 95th year hauling traps, her friend told WCSH.
The tradition carried on in her family with her four children lobstering just as her late husband had.
There is even a book about her called "The Lobster Lady."
