Upcountry Veterinary Services in Makawao has stopped its practice and will close its office by the end of March, according to a news release.
Its veterinarian, Ron Moyer, said he has been dealing with “declining health” for the past two years and has been unable to find a suitable professional to take his place.
The office will remain open through the end of March for customers to buy supplies and pick up their animal’s records to take to other veterinary offices.
The office also is looking for those willing to adopt cats, ducks and goats.

NEW NAME, OFFICE. West Maui Healthcare Center has closed at Whalers Village and has relocated to the Fairway Shops in Kaanapali. The center is now called Urgent Care West Maui.
Dr. Ben Azman, medical director, who opened the Whalers Village office in 1980, remains at the helm of the new enterprise. Other doctors include Dr. Charles Parente, Dr. Jeffrey Richard, Dr. Michael Layman and chiropractor Dain Azman.

SNUBA WINNER. Jamie Nygren of South Pacific Snuba has been named the 2013 SNUBA Operator of the year by SNUBA International.
SNUBA is a blend of snorkeling and scuba diving.
Evaluation for the honor is based on guest comments, guide professionalism, tour quality, innovation and overall commitment to the SNUBA program, a news release said.
Nygren has been providing SNUBA aboard the Four Winds II out of Maalaea Harbor since 1989.

DANCING. Arthur Murray International’s first dance studio on Maui has opened at 381 Huku Lii Place in Kihei.
Teacher Andrea Stein and her staff teach beginners to experienced dancers and have lessons for individuals and couples.

STORE REOPENS. The historic Honolua Store in the Kapalua Resort reopened in February after a five-month major renovation.
The renovation increased the size of the store and included upgrades of its Honolua Deli and coffee bar and lanai-style dining areas. The store now has a photovoltaic system as well.
The store serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has groceries, produce, fine wines and cosmetics for sale.
The store also contains rustic merchandise displays, photos and artifacts of the old plantation days.

CLEANING PRODUCT. The new Maui-based product Habitat All Surface Spray & Shine is now on the market.
It is a multiuse cleaning product that can work as a disinfectant, degreaser and glass cleaner and can be used on hard-to-gloss surfaces such as granite and stainless steel.
The product is 100 percent organic and biodegradable, making it safe for the Hawaii coastline, an announcement said.
